Glyns Collections, with it's 100 years of practical experience, can offer a complete furrier service, from made to measure, to off the peg, to collaborative projects.
Founded in 1921, Mr Mark Glyn, started in the trade as a young boy of 17 years, making and selling trims for the Mantle Trade in Manchester UK.
The fur trade in those days was relatively small and only after the war in the 1950's did it blossom. In 1945 he opened his first retail shop on Deansgate, Manchester.
By purchasing top quality pelts from all over the world at the international fur auctions, he started to build up a smart and discerning clientele. Ten years later he moved to the fashionable St Annes street in the heart of the city, and from that base built up a chain of 14 shops and shop in shop concessions all over the UK.
Over the years the company's reputation grew, as the excellent quality of their merchandise and service became apparent. This culminated in an approach in 1981 by the great fashion house of Christian Dior to represent them in the UK.

Mark Glyn passed away at the ripe age of 100 years and the business is now run by his son Tony and more recently his grandson Matthew.
Since the turn of the century there has been a steady revival in the fur trade and Glyns Collections are in a prime position to serve the UK fur market with their expertise in both traditional and modern fur fashions and styles.
